Meal, Myth & Musing

An introduction to the project

We are what we eat — and we are also the stories we tell.

Meal, Myth & Musing begins as an exploration of that intersection: the place where nourishment, meaning, and reflection meet. It is not simply a blog about food, nor solely about mythology or philosophy, but a space where these dimensions coexist and inform one another.
At its core, this project is an invitation to look closer — at what we consume, what we believe, and how we make sense of the world around us.

Meal is the doorway into culture.

Every dish carries memory: of migration, of seasonality, of hands that have repeated the same gestures across generations. A meal is never just sustenance — it is ritual, it is identity, it is a shared language spoken around the table. Through gastronomy, we begin to understand how we nourish ourselves, and what that nourishment reveals about who we are.

Myth is the doorway into meaning.

The stories we inherit and retell — whether ancient or modern — shape the way we perceive reality. Myths are not relics of the past; they are living structures that continue to inform our values, our fears, and our aspirations. From classical mythology to contemporary narratives, they offer a framework through which we attempt to understand existence.

Musing is the doorway into presence.

It is the personal thread that runs through everything. The quiet reflections that arise when we pause — when a flavor evokes memory, when a story resonates unexpectedly, when something familiar reveals a deeper layer. Musing transforms observation into experience, and knowledge into something lived.

Together, these three elements create a space of exploration.
A space where food becomes narrative, where myth becomes tangible, and where reflection bridges both.

This is not a place for definitive answers.
It is a place for questions, for connections, for moments of recognition.

A moment at the table.
A story remembered.
A thought that lingers longer than expected.

Meal, Myth & Musing is, ultimately, an invitation —
to slow down, to taste more deeply, to listen more carefully,
and to discover the layers of meaning that exist within the everyday.

Because in the end, what we eat, what we believe, and what we reflect upon are not separate things —
they are different expressions of the same human experience.
